Bitumen Based polymeric damp proof coating.
Basement and underground concrete structure is subjected to ground water pressure. This hydrostatic pressure sometimes becomes very high and water ingress is common to while under construction.
To arrest water ingress from positive side underground concrete beams, columns, rams are given waterproofing system during construction.
One of such systems is liquid applied membrane coating which dries to form a waterproof film barrier on concrete surface. A water bourn system always play dual role as it can be applied over wet surface and it will act as barrier for water evaporation during hydration process.
Sudha Speciality Chemicals Pvt. Ltd. has developed one bitumen base polymeric system which dries fast and has all the plus points of a liquid membrane.
The paste like material can be applied by brush, roller, and spray.
After full cure , the coating can with stand a positive pressure of 3 mt head.
The coating can be plastered with cement mortar as the bonding to cement is very good.
Corrosion Inhibitor admixture
Concrete by nature is alkaline . This alkaline condition prevents corrosion of reinforcement bars in RCC. But with passage of time, due to capillary action water penetrates through concrete and with carbon di oxide and other dissolved salts of sulphates the pH of concrete goes down. Rebar starts showing corrosion as the pH falls below 12 when electrolytic corrosion starts
Corrosion inhibitor chemicals because of its high vapourpressure goes through the capillaries and creats a molecular passive layer on the bar . This maintains the pH above 12 and stops both cathodic and anodic corrosion.
Sidha Indistries has developed one additive which can be added during the grinding process of cement making to make cement resistant to pH decease and there by reducing the corrosion chance of RCC.
